Resources

Please check back as I will try to update this list of resources as often as possible, or when I find something really really great that I want to share. If you know of a wonderful book/blog/website that I am missing send me an email at aimeefagan at gmail dot com.

Info about Montessori:

American Montessori Society

Association Montessori Internationale

Classroom & Homeschool Curriculum Resource:

Movement Matters – A Montessori Album that focus on incorporating and teaching gross-motor skills, by Melani Alexander Fuchs. If you ever have an opportunity to see Melani present, go! you will love it.

Materials:

Montessori Services and For Small Hands

Michael Olaf  — The website is hard to navigate, but the items are beyond compare. If you can find an old catalog, hold on to it! The top part of each page is devoted to exploring Montessori theory and practice.

Two Tall Trees — Waldorf focused

General Book Recommendations (not all Montessori focused):

Child of the World: Montessori, Global Education for Age 3-12+ by Susan Mayclin Stephenson. I have not actually seen this in book form, but it is all the wonderful writing that use to appear at the top of all the Michael Olaf catalogs.

Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids; by Kim John Payne and Lisa M. Ross

Heaven on Earth: A Handbook for Parents of Young Children; by Sharifa Oppenheimer

Unplugged Play: No Batteries. No Plug. Pure Fun.; by Bobbi Conner
